Payroll Accountant – Franklin Mountain Management | Full-Time

Franklin Mountain Management (FMM) provides best-practice Business Services to FMI and FM family of companies in the areas such as Financial Accounting, Investor Relations, HR, IT, Purchasing and Procurement, Legal, and Risk Management. FMM is seeking a human resource professional to join our team in the role of Payroll Accountant. The position is based in our corporate office located downtown El Paso, we offer competitive pay, benefits, and opportunity for advancement.

Job Summary
The Payroll Accountant will support the Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll processes for the organization, functions as the primary liaison between the Human Resources and Accounting departments. The position is responsible for ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations; will also perform various accounting tasks related to bi-weekly payroll processing and administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly payrolls for nine entities in various industries and in four states: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
  • Address and respond to payroll inquiries from employees and supervisors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates to include timekeeping data, paid time off requests, salary adjustments, benefit premiums, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Validate new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes processed by HR staff.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and accounting records and reports of all payroll transactions.
  • Support Tax manager in the preparation of payroll and tax reports for federal, state, and local agencies as required.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll wage and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitate audit requests and data submitted to auditors.
  • Identify efficiencies and recommend updates to payroll and accounting software, systems, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency with ADP Payroll platform and accounting software.
  • Experience in processing multi-state payrolls and preparing payroll ledger entries.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable federal, state and local payroll tax laws. Experience processing payroll in AZ, CO, NM, and TX strongly preferred.
  • Must sustain ethical conduct and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and highly skilled with Excel.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as a Payroll Accountant, or a similar role.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

Job Summary
The Director of Information Technology will manage and direct the company's information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support services. The Director of IT is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and implementing an IT strategy that meets the company’s business needs, delivers optimal return on investment and security for Franklin Mountain Management LLC.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that IT and network infrastructure adequately support the company’s computing, data processing, and communications needs.
  • Direct and oversee the IT department’s budgetary and financial activities.
  • Oversee contract negotiations with technology vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Collaborate with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals.
  • Meet with the executive team to review IT operations, discuss new projects, and detail costs, value and risk potential of existing operations and new initiatives.
  • Develop and implement department goals and strategies in line with the organization and ensure IT provides the appropriate support at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage IT goals, projects, and timelines for the organization.
  • Identify long-term Information Security needs, establish a plan, and develop strategies to enhance systems and acquire the software and hardware necessary to meet those needs.
  • Remain current on leading edge technology for IT systems and Cybersecurity and make appropriate recommendations for an organization.
  • Create and implement IT policies, protocols, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with applicable experience in an IT director-level position will be considered.
  • Advanced knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in complex business and technology environments with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with software and data architecture.
  • Proven ability and track record of successfully managing and developing talent.
  • Experience with a shared services business model.
  • Strong problem solver with an innovative approach.
  • Experience implementing and operating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with integration across multiple point solutions.
  • Experience with data visualization, analytic tools, reporting and dashboarding, cloud-based data platforms a plus.

Leasing Manager – Franklin Mountain Property Services | Full-Time
